Heat Stress

Enhance Crop Tolerance to Heat

Helping crops through heat stress.

The effect of heat stress on many tree, vine and vegetable crops can have a major impact on productivity. Above 30°C the rate of photosynthesis is reduced and the stress from higher temperatures  can reduce yield and quality.

Super Kelp

Super Kelp is a plant stimulant that has been shown in the field and through independent research to assist plant through time of heat stress.

  • Super Kelp contains betaines that increase chlorophyll and consequently photosynthesis, cytokinins that induce heat tolerance and increase potassium uptake and antioxidants that helps plants in temperature extremes …. plus more. See below for a fully referenced summary of independent research on Kelp.

For maximum effect use the following 48 hours prior to heat stress

Apply Super Kelp at 3-5L/ha.
Apply as foliar spray or via irrigation.
Repeat every 14-21 days during extended heat stress periods.

If it is too hot to apply as a foliar spray, we recommend using Super Kelp via irrigation.

Vitazyme

Vitazyme is a biostimulant with 20+ years of research supporting its ability to assist plant through a time of heat stress.

  • Vitazyme has triacontanol that increases chlorophyll content & CO2 assimilation and brassinosteroids that protect cells from the oxidative damage induced by high temperatures … plus more. See below for a fully referenced summary of independent research on Vitazyme ingredients.

For maximum effect use the following 48 hours prior to heat stress.

Apply Vitazyme at 1-1.5L/ha.
Apply as foliar spray or via irrigation.
Repeat every 14-21 days during extended heat stress periods. Under extreme temperature conditions, best results are obtained when Vitazyme and Super Kelp are used in conjunction with irrigation.
